"Words are not truth just as honey is not sweetness." ~ Tony Parsons

What is Satsang?

SATSANG (from the Sanskrit sat = truth and sanga = meeting). In Satsang we are gathered in the company of a teacher, a person who is awake to his/her true nature. Satsang is the transformative space of Stillness where we can wake up to the Truth of who we are. During Satsang there are moments that the teacher speaks, questions and answers and periods of silence.

In music there is a phenomenum called “ vibration by sympathy”. When an object vibrates, the waves can begin to vibrate in other nearby objects. In the same way, the presence of a teacher produces an inner resonance in the people who are gathered together. This transmission is the essence of Satsang beyond the form the meeting takes.

As Moni Vangolen expresses it: "Words in Satsang are bones for the mind. While it chews the bones, Grace does its work.”
